Oakville, ON — August 26, 2025 —The Oakville Blades are proud to announce a dynamic group of new signings set to bolster the lineup for the upcoming 2025-2026 OJHL season. This year’s class brings a mix of youth, grit, skill, and experience—all primed to make a significant impact in red, white, and blue.
Here’s a look at the newest members of the Blades family:
🚨 Forwards
Aidan Dicaro (2008)
A standout from the U18 AAA Mississauga Senators, Aidan impressed as an AP with the Blades last season. With blazing speed and sharp hockey IQ, he’s ready to bring a full-time presence to the ice in Oakville.
Cooper Woron (2006)
Coming from the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL), the Markham native brings a powerful two-way game, relentless work ethic, and a nose for the net. A proven competitor with Junior A experience.
Jonny Brooks (2008)
Jonny played last year with the Hamilton Kilty B’s in the GOJHL and appeared with the Blades as an AP. Known for his energy, grit, and offensive punch, he’s ready to shine in the OJHL.
Lucas Ma (2008)
A product of the U18 AAA Burlington Eagles, Lucas adds a quick, skilled, and competitive edge to the forward group. Expect fireworks from this high-octane forward.
Marcus Chiella (2008)
Also from the U18 AAA Mississauga Senators and a former Blades AP, Marcus is a gritty, smart playmaker who brings toughness and offensive upside to the lineup.
Theron Tsiapalis (2006)
Theron joins from the GOJHL’s Sarnia Legionnaires, bringing tenacity, vision, and a relentless motor. His playmaking ability and toughness make him a perfect fit for the Blades system.
🛡️ Defencemen
Matthew Hobbs (2008)
A smooth-skating, high-IQ blueliner from the Mississauga Senators U18 AAA program, Hobbs returns after AP duty last season to take on a full-time role.
Cole Willard (2009)
The Sarnia Sting selected Cole, a standout defenseman from the U18 AAA Toronto Marlboros, 69th overall in the 2025 OHL Draft. His skating, decision-making, and shutdown ability make him one to watch.
Manny Chouzarais (2007)
Fresh off back-to-back GTHL Championships with the U18 AAA Vaughan Kings, Manny adds championship pedigree, defensive poise, and vision to Oakville’s back end.
🧱 Goaltender
Marco Cruz-D’Annunzio (2008)
Last season, Marco Cruz-D’Annunzio was an AP with both the Blades and the KW Siskins, bringing calm composure and sharp reflexes from his time with the U18 AAA Toronto Nationals. He’s ready to hold the fort in Oakville.
